Shinola has partnered with the late Oscar de la Renta to create a limited edition wristwatch.

Last month we received the sad news that award-winning fashion designer Oscar de la Renta had passed away, but his legend will continue to live on in his designs. The exclusive Lattice Watch from Shinola was created in partnership with de la Renta and inspired by his iconic American-made jewelry collection. Shinola is an American company that we featured back in April of this year. The brand offers handcrafted watches, bicycles, leather goods and small accessories that are made in the United States. Shinola’s latest addition is de la Renta’s Lattice Watch, an elegantly refined women’s wristwatch that has been hand-assembled in Detroit in an individually numbered, limited edition run. The Lattice is handmade using 46 Swiss-made components and features a genuine alligator strap, a striking faceted sapphire crystal, a glossy white mother-of-pearl dial, a signature mosaico crown, and a Detroit-built Argonite 751 high-accuracy quartz movement. The medium-size face measures 36mm and has both hour and minute functions. The glamorous Lattice Watch comes in three different styles: blue and gold (blue alligator strap with a polished gold PVD case), red and silver (red alligator strap with a stainless steel case), and the opulent diamond-encrusted black and silver (black alligator strap with a stainless steel case and inset with 68 VS full-cut diamonds). The watches come with a limited lifetime guarantee and a battery life of seven years. Only between 250 and 500 of each style were made, so they are destined to become collectors’ items. Each Lattice Watch comes with a hardcover book that was created exclusively for the project, called Oscar de la Renta: An American Icon. The book provides an in-depth look at Oscar de la Renta and his illustrious career that spanned over five decades. The exclusive Shinola + Oscar de la Renta Lattice Watch can be purchased on the Shinola website, except for the blue strap and gold case style which is not yet available. Be the first to know when this model comes online by adding your name to the special waiting list indicated on the product page.
